Target reached £180. You did it, Priya. |
Your page now shows £180 Target £180. Done. |
|
Hi Priya, Your page passed £180 this morning. That's the target you set in October, reached with days of November still to walk. Thank you. |
What your £180 plants About 15 metres of new hedge. £35 buys, plants and protects three metres of mixed native hedge: hawthorn, blackthorn, hazel and dog rose, with guards on until it's established. Your £180 goes into gaps we've already mapped, with a landowner ready to say yes, like the one on the Thirsk corridor you've been walking past. |
| | “We walk that stretch with the dog. Good to know someone is fixing the gap.” Rob and Kath Ellery, on your page |
|
Why 15 metres matters A hedgehog will not cross open ground if it can help it. Where the hedge stops, it stops. Fifteen metres gives it more of a way through, and our volunteers will be the ones on their knees in the mud planting it. |
What happens next Nothing is needed from you. Vic has a voice note for you on WhatsApp. Your page stays open until 30 November if anyone else wants to give, and we'll write on 2 December with your final total, then in the spring with the corridor, the location and the metres. |
Thank you, Priya. Properly. Hannah Lister Supporter Care Officer, The Hedgerow Trust hello@hedgerowtrust.org.uk |
P.S. On your page you said you walked to the gap itself and took a photo of it. Hold on to that one. When we write in the spring, you'll know exactly what was planted and where. |
